When Dongguan Hengrong clocks and watches began to develop and produce quartz clock movements in 1999, the first batch of HR1688 clock movements produced was a quartz clock movement used to assemble a wall clock, which was used in the factory workshop to facilitate employees to check the time when commuting to and from get off work. In 2008, due to development needs, Hengrong clocks and watches Company moved from Henggangtou Industrial Zone, Community, Chang Town to No. 4, Lane 6, Huaide Xincun New District, Humen Town. The quartz clock still followed Hengrong to Humen to continue working and keeping time.

A small quartz clock movement has witnessed Hengrong clock18 years, spanning a century. When talking about this wall clock, an old employee recalled the scene back then. He said, quot;The movement of this wall clock was made by ourselves. The dial is someone else and was assembled by Master Lan. The movement is our HR1688 standard jumping seconds movement. After installation, it was hung on the wide wall of the factory workshop. Later, Master Lan also brought it over when we moved to the factory. He also told the editor that the movement of this quartz clock is very accurate, and it is completely comparable to the computer time clock at work. Even if it is not calibrated for a year, the time will not be worse than 1 minute. It is also very energy-saving. Some batteries can last more than a year, and some can last close to a year. The 18-year time digit means a powerful enough workload for a small quartz clock movement. To this day, the HR1688 quartz clock movement still adheres to its mission and keeps going.
